Sambar of Amarnath (Dantina Soppu)

Ingredients Required:

amarnath: 5 bundles

thuvar dhal: 300gms

sambar powder: 5 spoons

salt: as per your taste

tamarind: a lemon size

coriander: a little

curry leaf: 4 strings

oil: 2 spoons

mustard: 1 spoon

asafoetida: 1 pinch

turmeric powder: 1 pinch

Method of Preparation:

clean the leaves and separate the stalks, add salt to the water and wash it. filter the water and cut them into very small pieces. add 2 tumblers of water to tuvar dhal, turmeric powder, a little oil and bake them in the cooker.

pour some water and add the cut greens and boil the same. then add the baked dhal and sambar powder and boil the same. squeeze the tamarind and add the same and when it is boiled for some more time, add salt, curry leaf, coriander leaf, after boiling the same put the vessel down. then season it with mustard and asafoetida.
