Ingredients Required:
gooseberry: 1/4 cup
water: 2 cups
khaskhas: 1/2 spoon
grated coconut: 1/2 cup
red chilli: 6 nos.
curry leaf: 1 string
coriander: 8 stings
cumin seeds: 1/4 spoon
asafoetida: 1 pinch
salt: according to your taste
jaggery: marble size
ginger powder: 1 pinch
oil: 2 spoons
Method of Preparation:
first wash the gooseberries nicely. remove the seeds. then grind cumin seeds, grated coconut and gooseberries in a mixie. add water and boil it. put oil in a pan and keep the same on the stove. after the oil boils put mustard and when it bursts, put curry leaf, chilli pieces and after it becomes red add ginger powder along with boiled mixture. salt, jaggery powder, and coriander leaf and see that they mix well. again warm it. now tasty gooseberry rasam is ready.
mix hot rasam to hot rice and eat with papad and sandige.
