Durvasa, however, decided to test the king’s devotion and asked Ambarisha to wait until he returned from his bath before breaking his fast.

As the auspicious moment for breaking the fast approached, Ambarisha found himself in a dilemma. Respecting the sage’s wishes and adhering to the rules of the fast were both paramount. Choosing devotion to dharma, Ambarisha took a sip of water to technically break his fast, ensuring he adhered to both commitments.

### The Wrath and Realization of Durvasa

Upon his return, Durvasa was enraged by what he perceived as an affront to his authority and hospitality. In his anger, he summoned a powerful demon to destroy Ambarisha. However, Ambarisha remained calm and composed, placing his faith entirely in Lord Vishnu.

In response to the king’s devotion, the Sudarshana Chakra, Lord Vishnu’s divine weapon, emerged to protect Ambarisha. The Sudarshana Chakra chased Durvasa across the universe, causing the sage to seek refuge with various deities, but none could offer him protection.

Ultimately, Durvasa sought the mercy of Lord Vishnu, who directed him back to King Ambarisha, emphasizing the power of the king’s unwavering devotion. When Durvasa begged for forgiveness, Ambarisha, with his boundless compassion, prayed to the Sudarshana Chakra to spare the sage.

ఉదక పారణ చేసి ఊరకుండగను అంతట వచ్చెనే దూర్వాస మునియు

వచ్చిన ఆ మునికి వందనము చేసి అర్ఘ్య పాద్యములు అతివేగ నిచ్చే

కంచమ్ము బొట్టూను కావించి వేగా పంచ పదార్ధమ్ములూ పరగ వడ్డించే

నీ బంతి అన్నంబు నే కోరి వస్తి కూర్చుండు మమ్బరీష కుశలమ్ము గాను

ద్వాదశి పారణ వ్రతభంగమనుచు శ్రీతులసి పారణ చేసితి యనెను

నీ బంతి అన్నంబు నే కోరి వస్తే నీవెట్లు కుడిచితివి నీచుడా యనెను

అల్పుడ నీ చేతి అన్నంబు నేను వల్ల పొమ్మని ఒక్క జట  విప్పి వైచె
